Compared to now, a cell phone ain’t anything special without the common features of a pocket-sized computer, music player, camera, & just about everything but the kitchen sink*.

@oiromaha That wasn’t the best technology as the “compact” MicroTac was went on sale in mid-1989 at a very high price.
@Roadgeek By 1994 they were using flip phones like the Motorola MicroTac introduced for $2,495 and $3,495 in May 1989. Was yours a late model DynaTac?

ha ha i remember the only people that really carried those around were the rich or businessmen now our phones are much smaller and even your grandma has one!
by 1990 seems radio shack was offering portable cell phones. lol Well anyways, there used to be a commercial on here from 1988 where Radio Shack was just introducing the car phones.
LOL I think the kid at the end of the video was the actor that played the neighbor kid in “The Gate”…think his name was Terry in that film. One of my favorite scary movies.
